September is Suicide Prevention Month; Stafford SDA Church and Mental Health America Fredericksburg Region (MHAfred) have partnered to do do something positive for the community in Stafford, VA.
Licensed by MindWise and presented by MHAfred, Signs of Suicide (SOS) is an evidence-based youth suicide prevention program that teaches middle and high school students how to identify warning signs of suicide and depression. Trusted by thousands of schools across the country, SOS can be delivered in a single setting and encourages students to ACT® (Acknowledge, Care, Tell) if they are worried about themselves or a friend. This program has been shown to reduce suicide attempts by 64%, and reduce behavioral health stigma among students.
MHAfred is offering a SOS workshops on September 27 at 4-5PM for 12-13 year old homeschooled students. Location is Stafford SDA Church (550 Joshua Rd., Stafford VA)!
Registration is required for attendees to the workshop on September 27 for 12-13 year old. Attendance is limited to the first fifteen (15) registrants.
